About Anna

I'm a civic technologist and transit analyst majoring in computer science and public policy at UNC-Chapel Hill. At UNC, I lead BuildUP, our Urban Planning club, and serve as a junior officer in the Game Development Club!

Througout my life, I've experienced firsthand the value of community and freedom of movement. That's why I've made it my goal to expand mobility in my community, like by leading the Triangle Refugee Student Project to help refugee families meet their school needs in North Carolina. More technically, I develop affordable platform screen door systems at People Moving People, and intern at leading analytics company SAS Institute.

My smaller projects always focus on looking your friend in the eye. My hackathon projects include Campus Companion, a mobile game in which a tomogachi-like friend called a Hitchin guides you towards friends outside your major, as well as ChamaQuest, which aims to bridge social saving clubs with financial institutions. Most recently, I helped develop an award-winning role-playing video game where you and your friends frantically try to control your characters from your phones.

Beyond transit and community, I'm a big fan of free software, privacy, ska, the Carolina Hurricanes, Blaseball (Park It!), and my friends. Thanks so much for reading :)
